The Business Council is proud to announce the launch of an online workforce development platform in partnership with Metrix Learning and SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Advanced Manufacturing Performance (AMP) Center. Skillup® AMP features hundreds of online training programs and certifications in IT and manufacturing which jobseekers will have access to. Jobseekers will be able to complete online training modules and take assessments free of charge. The employer side of the platform will allow businesses to show jobseekers which types of training programs align with employment within their companies.


All the training and assessments are industry recognized training and credentials. The extensive IT catalog includes hundreds of courses and certifications by IBM, Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, and many more. In the manufacturing catalog, the courses range from basic safety and maintenance to more advanced electronic systems, robotics, and Lean Six Sigma.

What is SkillUp™ AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Performance)?

Finding a skilled workforce can be challenging. It is equally challenging for job seekers to know which skills employers are looking for to fill specific positions. Skillup® AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Performance) is an online tool to solve both of those challenges in the information technology (IT) and manufacturing sectors.


This platform was developed by Metrix Learning in partnership with The Business Council of New York State, Inc. and SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Advanced Manufacturing Performance (AMP) Center. It was funded with federal and state funding from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) and New York State Empire State Development (ESD) through SUNY Polytechnic’s AMP Center.
